CAMS Fellowship Awardees 2025
The Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund (ACTF) and Community for Analytical Measurement Science (CAMS) are pleased to announce this year’s CAMS Fellowship Awardees.
Andrew Chetwynd - “My CAMS Fellowship has allowed me two develop new bottoms-up proteomic methodologies for urine microsampling allowing 100s of proteins to be detected from just 30 uL of urine. This has led to new collaborations with industry and excitingly has led to other new clinical collaborations in kidney disease, my initial focus, but now also urological conditions. As I continue through my fellowship I plan to expand this methodology to N-glcyan profiling in both bulk and micro urine samples.”
Mohamed Sharafeldin - "The CAMS fellowship has been instrumental at this early stage of my career, not only by providing critical funding, but also by connecting me with a dynamic network of collaborative and motivated colleagues across multiple CAMS themes. The scheme’s flexibility and well-structured support were particularly valuable during my recent relocation to Ireland, enabling me to initiate a new line of research that has laid the foundation for larger funding applications. Through this fellowship, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate closely with the ACTF team and engage with industry partners, fostering meaningful interdisciplinary partnerships. The funding also allowed us to procure essential materials and consumables, which were crucial for launching a new project focused on developing responsive electrochemical sensors for heart failure diagnosis. This work has already facilitated the recruitment of two MSc students and a summer intern, all contributing toward the development of a cost-effective and scalable diagnostic tool."
