Focus Group on the Standardisation of Creatinine Measurements
The UK's National Measurement Laboratory (NML) is inviting participants to contribute to a focus group exploring how measurement standardisation is implemented in healthcare and the value it delivers across the diagnostic pathway, using creatinine measurement as a case study.
As part of its role within the UK's National Measurement System, the NML is examining the factors that support the successful adoption of standardised measurement approaches and how these contribute to confidence in clinical testing, improved decision-making and better patient outcomes.
We are interested in hearing from individuals involved in the development, manufacture or application of diagnostic assays, devices and analytical instruments, as well as those working in laboratory medicine, standards development and healthcare innovation.
The discussion will explore:
- Calibration traceability and measurement comparability.
- Industry experiences of implementing standardisation.
- The impact of standardisation on healthcare delivery and patient care.
- Factors that enable successful adoption across the healthcare ecosystem.
The online focus group will last approximately 60-90 minutes and is expected to take place between September and October 2026. Participation will be confidential, with findings reported in an anonymised and aggregated form.
