CAMS Update December 2019

Welcome to the latest CAMS newsletter; as we approach the end of 2019 we would like to thank everyone for all their support and hard work.

Whilst the idea of CAMS and the discussions for its inception have been long in the making, this year saw a number of significant milestones with the Community’s official launch at the RSC’s Burlington House in June and the establishment of the Executive Board, Industry Advisory Board, Measurement Science Institute and BEAM (training and skills) during the year. With the support of the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund we bestowed our first set of industry selected awards (3 lectureships and 3 post doc grants), as well as our second set of CAMS fellowships. And to end the year with a bang, we have finally resolved how to manage community funds by creating “CAMS Ltd”. But for CAMS this is only the beginning, we have a busy schedule for 2020 and will keep you all updated throughout the year and hope to welcome as many of you as possible to our first annual conference next summer. Please see here for further details on some of our recent activities and a list of upcoming events.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, the CAMS Secretariat Team
