This event is jointly organised with Natural Materials Association of Institiute of Materials, Minerals and Minning and the Biomedical Applications Division; and will explore a number of natural and bio-inspired materials and their applications as biomaterials in medicine.

You will hear from:

  • Ipsita Roy, Department of Materials Science and Engineer, The University of Sheffield, on natural polymers as biomaterials
  • Adam Celiz, Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London, on alginate adhesives to replace surgical stitches
  • Cheryl Miller, School of Clinical Dentistry, The University of Sheffield, on bio-inspired biomaterials
  • Andrew Spragg, Founder, CSO & Executive Director, Jellagen, on Jellagen

The interactive seminar will also provide the opportunity for Question and Answers and we often hang around at the end for a fun and engaging panel session.
