Webinar: A Critical Evaluation of SIFT-MS and Sensory Analysis of Odour Sources at a Wastewater Treatment Plant

Can SIFT-MS mimic the response of the human nose and provide “instrumental sensory analysis” characterisation? To date no single technology has succeeded, but SIFT-MS has a unique combination of features (highly sensitive and selective analysis of a very wide range of odourants in real time) that mean this question is asked of Syft often. So we decided to answer it! Join Syft’s Principal Scientist, Dr Vaughan Langford, for this webinar addressing chemical and sensory-like analysis with SIFT-MS in the context of a well-known source of objectionable odours: wastewater treatment. After introducing sensory and instrumental analysis of odour, Vaughan will describe the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) case study in detail, critiquing both instrumental and sensory methods. The presentation will conclude with live Q&A.
