Book to join our Applied FTIR training course to learn the practical theory of Fourier Transform InfraRed spectroscopy and review the EM spectrum focusing on the IR region. The course details the characteristic absorption spectra of various compounds such as alkanes, alkynes, alcohols, esters, ethers, and provide examples in the form of exercises for IR interpretation. We also examine the different components of FTIR such as IR sources, detectors, beam splitter and Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) and guide the delegate with sample-specific factors affecting spectral quality and mixtures. There are worked-through examples including the analysis of pharmaceutical and food samples by FTIR and analysis of the data.
