World demand for analytical science skills has grown at an unprecedented rate. Now more than ever, it is important for analytical chemists to have access to the latest knowledge to address the world’s challenges.

To help chemists increase their skillset, The University of Manchester has introduced a new part-time, online master’s course - MSc Analytical Science.

This flexible course will develop chemists into the broad spectrum, multi-faceted analytical scientists, capable of using advanced analytical techniques. The course is taught from an applied perspective by experts in the field and covers all the major analytical techniques.

The MSc in Analytical Science aims to:

  • Teach classical and state-of-the-art, instrumentally-based techniques such as atomic and molecular spectroscopy, chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Enable learners to develop the skills and understanding of processing real-world data – a critical feature in obtaining reliable results, through video practicals and a research-related project.
  • Develop and expand expertise in analytical science and chemistry.

The next intake is in September 2020. Visit the course webpage for more details.
