The inaugural ECC meeting is the only national conference specifically aimed at early career academic and industrial scientists in Colloid Science. The ECC meeting is the brainchild of the RSC-SCI Joint Colloid Committee. It aims to provide a new forum for discussion, network building and to facilitate knowledge exchange for early career scientists in all aspects of Colloid Science – a forum which has been lacking in our community to date. The event is targeted at early career researchers in both academia (i.e. newly appointed lecturers (within 10 years), Fellows, PDRAs) and industry and aims to help early career scientists to build their national collaborative networks, exchange experiences and benefit from peer support. The conference will incorporate Plenary lectures from Prof. Peter Dowding (Infineum) and Prof. Steven Armes (University of Sheffield). It will include symposia covering a broad range of subjects in Colloid Science, networking opportunities as well as Panel Discussions to encourage collaboration, stimulate discussions and provide an open forum for advice. Coffee, lunch and poster sessions and a conference dinner will allow attendees to build on their collaborative network and benefit from peer exchange.

We encourage Early Career Scientists to submit an abstract for a contributed oral presentation or poster through our online system. Abstracts will be competitively assessed. Deadline for abstract submission: oral presentations 7th September, poster presentations 31st August.

Registration fees are £30 (RSC/SCI members) or £40 (non-members), this price includes refreshments throughout the meeting.
